Author Paul Barrett Talks Gun Control, Bloomberg, Defensive Gun Use with Guns.com (VIDEO)

Guns.com chats with Paul Barrett, author of the best selling book "GLOCK: The Rise of America's Gun", at the 2013 SHOT Show. We discussed a number of important topics: Obama's gun control agenda, defensive gun use, universal background checks, and what it's like working for New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Glock in 2013 (VIDEO)

We spent a good time at SHOT Show this year shooting the new Glocks, too. Actually, just thinking about Media Day makes me feel cold, you can see how frozen our hands were in our video. So most of what Glock is doing is flushing out their Gen 4 series, adding updated versions of existing […]

A Post SHOT Show Look at Industry Trends: Threaded Barrels

As the dust settled on the 2013 SHOT Show, I was back home sifting through hundreds of images and hours of video. Now, three weeks later, I'm beginning to see some of the more subtle trends. My favorite is the growing emphasis on threaded barrels. A silencer is a logical tool, and threaded barrels this year should mean more silencers to come.

Elvis and Elvis stop by the Beretta booth (VIDEO)

It’s probably better that I didn’t see this at this year’s SHOT Show. I might have thought I broke a part of my brain, and Vegas isn’t the sort of place where you want to lose your mind.

SHOT Show 2013: Heizer Unveils Pocket Shotgun and Their Own .45 Derringer (VIDEO)

I'm not sure who to believe. Heizer and DoubleTap seemed like such a good couple. But they split up. And if that wasn't awkward enough, they both showed up at The SHOT Show this year with very similar .45 ACP derringers. Keeping all of this straight is getting to be difficult. But Heizer brought something else, a Pocket Shotgun.

SHOT Show 2013: Konus Optics

I'd never seen a Konus rifle scope in person. But at this year's SHOT Show, I was able to visit with Konus and check out their whole line. Konus is branching out form their traditional hunting scopes and entering the tactical market. And the scopes look great and are a great value.

Shooting the Kriss in super slow-mo (VIDEO)

We’re starting to really dig Richard Ryan’s work, aka RatedRR. A while back we reviewed Kriss’ .45 ACP carbine, and had mixed feelings about it. Sure it’s interesting and low-recoil due to the gun’s unique recoil system, but it’s really… big. The SIG MPX might not be available in .45 (yet?) but it’s sorta taken […]

Springfield XDs-9 (VIDEO)

Guns.com takes a look at the Springfield XDs-9 at SHOT Show 2013. The XDs-9 is the newest pistol by Springfield. It’s identical to the XDs-45, which was released in 2012, except for having a different caliber.

More details about the SIG MPX (VIDEO)

Just to be clear: the carbine has a permanently-attached “muzzle break” that’s actually a baffle stack. You can buy the MPX, file your NFA paperwork, pay your stamp, and when it clears in a few months, you just drop on the silencer shell, screw it in tight with the endcap, and now your MPX is […]

Editorial: My Top Five Guns SHOT Show 2013

This was my first SHOT Show. I'm still a bit stunned. As a review writer, I know a lot about the industry. But now I know that I have a lot to learn. I could have spent all five days just studying ARs, or 1911s. There is too much for one person to see, so I thought I'd throw up a few of my favorites.
