How the Gun Control Movement Sabotages Itself

Recent reports on a meeting last week in which gun control leaders were reminded once again to hide their real aims behind bland, inoffensive, & comforting language.

Ten Favorite Lies of the Gun Control Lobby

One can only conclude that the gun control lobby liars are more interested in political posturing and cultural warfare than in reducing “gun violence.”

USA –  -(Ammoland.com)-  One of the most contentious questions in the gun debate is whether gun control can affect suicide rates and, if so, should more restrictions be imposed?

In the United States, gun suicides outnumber gun homicides by almost two to one.  This creates a problem for supporters of gun control.  They must frighten people to achieve their goals, but most of us don’t feel threatened by suicide.

For half a century, the anti-gun lobby has tried to confuse the public and demonize gun ownership in order to promote more government control.  For them, firearms suicide is just one more issue to be exploited.

USA –  -(Ammoland.com)-  Discussions about the role of guns in society often founder under the weight of dueling statistics thrown out by both sides.

I’d like to avoid the statistical food fight and base this article solely on the ethics of armed self-defense.

How much do you value your life?

Modern America has a strong pacifist streak that originated among some of our Christian denominations and spread to non-religious people, most notably during the 1960s.  It is now associated with the liberal side of the political spectrum and with those who support strict gun control.

USA –  -(Ammoland.com)- When a person who believes in strict gun control argues with a supporter of gun rights, you can tell when one of them realizes they can’t win the argument.

The gun owner will usually fall back on the Second Amendment and the phrase “shall not be infringed” as being the final word on the subject.  Supporters of more gun control laws will often resort to some variation of:  “You just want everyone to have a gun!”

This argumentum ad absurdum signals their inability to process any more information that runs contrary to their world view.  End of discussion.  But let’s examine this statement further and see where it leads.

USA –  -(Ammoland.com)- Pity the poor New York Times.

Like most of the so called mainstream media, their ad revenue and readership have been declining for years.

They must know that their extreme leftward bias has accelerated this death dive, yet they strive to spew propaganda all the way down.

Polls say that trust in the media is at an all-time low and a recent article in the Times (titled: “When Gun Violence Felt Like a Disease, a City in Delaware Turned to the CDC”) is a good example of why.
