New technology has recently been used to steady the frames of the 8mm film that captured John F. Kennedy’s assassination on Nov. 22, 50 years ago today.
It was Abraham Zapruder that documented 26.6 seconds of the gunshot that shook the nation. But his original footage was shaky and difficult to follow, Death and Taxes reports.
Zapruder stood elevated in Dealey Plaza in Dallas and aimed his 8mm video camera at JFK’s motorcade as Lee Harvey Oswald used his 6.5mm Carcano rifle to sight in on the president.
Now, with the new technology added to the 1963 footage, the frames have been stabilized and the scene that unfolds is nothing short of shocking.
