Woman steals police car, leads authorities on high-speed chase, all while handcuffed (VIDEO)

27-year-old Roxanne Rimer led police on a wild, high-speed chase through Center Township, Pennsylvania, after she was apprehended for eluding authorities when they attempted to stop her on suspicion of shoplifting. What made the chase so unusual was the fact that Rimer was in a stolen police cruiser, reaching estimated speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, all while her hands her handcuffed behind her back. The dashcam footage shows the nine-minute chase, which ended after she jumped out of the cruiser.

“With her back turned and her hands cuffed behind her back, she manages to put it in gear and drive. And from what we can gather, she drove at very high speeds with that position somehow manipulating the gears and steering the wheel. Thank God no one else was hurt,” Center Township Police Chief Barry Kramer said. “She put a lot of lives in danger.”

Despite being handcuffed, Rimer actually manages to drive fairly well. Of course, authorities say it probably helped that the lights and sirens were on while she was driving.

She now faces a few more charges on top of shoplifting.
