Officers in Eastlake, Ohio, responded to a call Saturday just before noon about a woman who had shot a squirrel at close range with a compound bow in a residential area.

When officers arrived, they spoke with the 22-year-old woman, who explained that she simply saw the small animal as a dinner opportunity. The woman, who said she was from a small farm town where squirrel hunting is always in season and she often did such to provide food for her family, apparently didn’t realize that ordinances prohibited her from hunting in city limits.

It’s unknown at this time if the woman will face any charges for killing the squirrel or whether she opted to boil it, bake it, or put it in a stew.
