Berryville, AR -(AmmoLand.com)- Wilson Combat is proud to announce a world record score from one of our shooting team members at the Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships.
Wilson shooting team member, BJ Norris earned 1st place in the Centerfire Limited Division, setting an impressive new world record time of 82.44 seconds.
BJ also placed 2nd in the Rimfire Pistol Optic Division with a time of 73.37 seconds, 3rd in the Centerfire Open Division with a time 77.55 seconds, and 2nd in the SteelMaster Aggregate with a total time of 233.36.
Here is BJ’s feedback from the match:
“As always, it was a long, hard week of competition. I shot about 8,000 rounds in the 10 days leading up to match, and it showed. Unfortunately, I did have a miss penalty about halfway through the open match, which was a 3 second drop. I went from 1 second ahead to 2 seconds behind with just that one shot, and despite my best efforts to catch up, it just wasn¹t quite enough. Max Michel won the match and was about 2.7 seconds ahead of me. It is just another indication of the level of competition that is in play at this match now. About 8 years ago, it took everything we had to break the 80 second barrier. Now, we’re shooting in the 75 second frame, and almost breaking 80 seconds with iron-sighted guns like my Wilson Combat 9mm 1911.”
