LINCOLN, Neb. -(Ammoland.com)- Powderhook is pleased to announce the release of the 2016 update to Waterfowl Tracker, a popular free app that allows hunters to monitor waterfowl activity and harvests.

Waterfowl Tracker is a free app, available via Android and iOS, thanks to an ongoing partnership between Powderhook and Cabela’s.

Waterfowl Tracker app allows hunters to submit reports based on observed bird activity or birds they harvest. Based on this user-driven data, the app generates a heat map estimating the likelihood of seeing waterfowl activity during hunting hours in a selected area.

The locations of users are generalized, so it is impossible to pinpoint actual properties where reports originated.

Public land lands information is now free for everyone who uses the Waterfowl Tracker, where it was $2.99 previously to access 700,000 hunting locations.

The boundaries shown on the Waterfowl Tracker map indicate lands that are open to public hunting.

However, check local regulations for the latest information on seasons, bag limits or recent access changes.

Additional upgrades include the ability to setup push notifications for weather warnings, or harvest reports from selected areas.

Reports can now be sorted by dates, distance and relevance. One final addition is that hunters can now move pins on the map generated by their own reports.

Users cannot see the pins created by other hunters.

Waterfowl Tracker is available for download through the Google Play and Apple App stores and can be accessed without the app via https://www.waterfowltracker.com/ on desktop devices.
