Walgreen’s robbery foiled by clerk who nonchalantly walks away from armed suspect (VIDEO)

An attempted robbery of a Tulsa Walgreen’s early Wednesday morning didn’t quite turn out as planned when the clerk simply ignored the crook’s demands for cash and walked away.

Authorities say the would-be robber entered the Walgreen’s around 3:20 a.m., asked the clerk for a few items, then handed the clerk some money. While the clerk was making change, the suspect pulled a gun and demanded cash, but instead of handing over dirty money, the clerk nonchalantly gave the robber his change for the items, closed the cash register drawer, and walked away. The would-be robber, in turn, walked away as well.

The suspect was described as a black male with facial hair, standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8, and weighing around 170 pounds. He was dressed in a leather jacket and may have driven away in a mid-1990s maroon Chevy Suburban with dark-tinted windows.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 918-596-COPS (2677) or via text message at CRIMES (274637). Text tips should begin with “Tip918.”
