U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- Jacqui Heinrich of Boston 25 News release two pictures of the weapons that Stephen Paddock used to kill 59 people and injured over 500. In the video, it sounds like automatic gunfire, but it turns out it was not. From the pictures, we now know what Paddock was using to kill innocent concert goers.
One rifle appears to have a bump fire stock. A bump fire stock uses recoil to help the shooter pull the trigger at a faster rate. Looking closer it seems to be the Slide Fire SSAR-15 SBS. Paddock used the SlideFire to simulate automatic fire. In the coming days, there will be calls to ban these stocks, and we must be prepared to push back because the ATF can outlaw these stocks with a stroke of a pen.
If anything can be taken away from this tragedy, it is that these stocks show the feebleness of the NFA. People will find ways around the NFA. Prohibition did not work with alcohol. It is not working with drugs, and it will not work with firearms.
History shows us it always fails.
Another product that is going to come under fire for being used by the madman is the SureFire MAG5-100. This is a 100 round magazine that Paddock used to fire down into the crowd. There will be renewed calls for magazine limitations. We must be prepared to fight back against these calls with reason and not emotion.
Calls are already coming in for new gun control laws.
Hillary Clinton has already Tweeted out “Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get.” and “Our grief isn’t enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again.”
Once again she is not letting a tragedy go to waste. She calls for politics to be put aside and then launches a political attack.
Late Night comedian Jimmy Kimmel jumped on the anti-gun bandwagon by saying “Right now there are loopholes in the law that let people avoid background checks if they buy a gun privately from another party if they buy a gun online or at a gun show.”
It is worth noting that Paddock didn’t avoid background checks and didn’t buy his guns privately. He passed the background check showing that they have never worked in the past and will not work in the future.
Senator Chuck Schummer also made the dubious claim that over 30,000 people are killed each year by gun violence. This number is false. Even the most inflated numbers for gun violence doesn’t even reach half of this figure. He also urged Trump to veto SHARE act if it reaches his desk.
Paul Ryan has already come out and said that the SHARE act had been shelved. Ryan has said there are no plans to vote on it at this time. It doesn’t mean it is killed, but it will not be passed in a timely fashion as we have wanted. We must continue to push for this bill by educating the general public about suppressors and separating some of the movie myths from facts.
What we have to do now is push back against the gun grabbers. We need to make the point that gun laws do not work. For every example, they give about why we need more gun laws we need to turn it around and use the same example to show that gun laws don’t work.
We need to make the point that holding every gun owner responsible for a mass shoot is akin to holding every Muslim accountable for every suicide bomber. We need to let them know that they are blaming their doctors, their police, and their neighbors for these heinous acts of violence.
In all honesty that will not sway the gun grabbers themselves, but fighting back against their tyrannical agenda is not to change their minds. It is to convince the people on the fence of the absurdness of the gun grabber’s stance.
We must stand together as a united front against these attacks. We also must grieve for the loss of life caused by a man with pure evil in his heart. Trump said that this isn’t a time for politics, and I agree, but we must respond to the opportunist left on gun control because they use emotion instead of reason.
