Paso Robles, CA -(AmmoLand.com)- Weatherby is proud to announce Andrea P. of California as the winner of the “Women of Weatherby Name Your Rifle” sweepstakes.
“I have been praying for a hobby and passion, and a way to bond with my brothers (who are hunters) on a deeper level. Winning this rifle was a true blessing for me,” states Andrea.
The mother of two, one of which is a daughter named Camilla, plans to use the rifle as a starting point to connect with nature and pass hunting on to her children.
Andrea was told about the sweepstakes by one of her brothers and submitted her daughter’s name without knowing that Camilla Weatherby was the matriarch of the Weatherby family, and one of the key reasons that Weatherby is around today.
“It’s a sign from God that my daughter’s name just happens to be the same as one of the founders of the company. I have been looking for a way to have a closer connection with the outdoors and this is a perfect way to share the tradition of hunting with my children and spend time with my family.”
Having grown up on a farm, Andrea plans on hunting both where she lives in California and when visiting family on trips back home to Tennessee. Like many first time hunters, hogs are what she would like to start with then move on to whitetail hunting. She is very excited to learn more about the natural world around us and have an important escape from the daily routine of living in a large city.
