U.S. Marshals Museum to Host ‘Meet the Marshals’ Lunch & Learn

Fort Smith, AR -(AmmoLand.com)- Join the U.S. Marshals Museum this Friday, Aug. 28 at noon for a Lunch & Learn and hear from representatives of the local U.S. Marshals office.

The event, which will be held at the museum’s office at 14 North 3rd Street in Fort Smith, is free and open to the public.

“Bring your lunch, and come learn about the great work the U.S. Marshals Service is doing right here in Fort Smith,” said Leslie Higgins, director of education for the U.S. Marshals Museum. “We look forward to seeing you at the Lunch & Learn on Friday.”

Friday’s Lunch & Learn will feature Chief Deputy Dewaine Allen who is currently serving his 13th year with the U.S. Marshals Service in the Western District of Arkansas.

Headquartered in Fort Smith, the Western District of Arkansas covers 34 counties and 24,000 square miles from the Missouri to Louisiana state line.

The future U.S. Marshals Museum will be a national museum located on the riverfront in Fort Smith, Ark. Museum plans include three permanent exhibit galleries, a temporary exhibit gallery, the Samuel M. Sicard Hall of Honor and a National Learning Center. The museum will tell the more than 225 year story of the U.S. Marshals Service, the oldest law enforcement agency in the United States, and honor the sacrifice of marshals killed in the line of duty.
