Trijicon is rolling out new second-generation Compact ACOG scopes. These updated ACOG fit in the same envelope as the original compact scopes but incorporate a host of small improvements to make them more rugged and flexible. The Compact ACOG series includes several scopes with fixed magnification ranging from 1.5x now up to 3x.
The ACOG is a popular riflescope for tactical shooters, practical shooters and even hunters with its always-on, battery-free illumination and compact size and weight. The Compact ACOG series scopes are even smaller and lighter with lower levels of magnification for close-range shooting.
The Gen 2 Compact ACOG scopes have a new forged scope housing that’s designed to stand up to even more abuse with redesigned reticle turrets that are completely finger-adjustable and water-tight. The turrets are click-adjustable in 1/2-MOA click adjustments. Select Gen 2 scopes will be offered with standard mounts for ARs and similar-height rails and low mounts for use with guns with higher rails as well as providing more options to suit user preference.
Trijicon is adding a 3×24 scope to the Compact ACOG series with a larger objective lens. Otherwise it’s got the build quality and all the features shooters have come to expect when they pick up an ACOG. The 3×24 scope are offered with the standard crosshair and horseshoe-dot reticles calibrated for 5.56 and 7.62 NATO and supersonic 300 AAC Blackout and 7.62x39mm.

The company is also expanding on their AccuPoint variable-power rifles scopes with a new 1-6×24 model and a 2.5-12.5×42 scope. Like the ACOG the AccuPoint series uses both tritium and fiber-optic light pipes to power its lit reticle, and will run battery-free for a decade or more. The 2.5-12.5 model uses Trijicon’s MOA-Dot Triangle post, Duplex and MIL-Dot reticles where the 1-6×24 models are offered with all new and existing AccuPoint reticles.
These new AccuPoint scopes fill a growing need for magnified optics that are capable at close and medium and longer ranges. Shooters of all stripes are warming up to these scopes that until recently, cost thousands more or were flatly unobtainable.
To be sure, these are not inexpensive optics, but they’re not completely out of reach for shooters with a good budget to work with. The Gen 2 Compact ACOGs have MSRPs in the $1,200 to $1,300 range and the 1-6x and 2-5x12x AccuPoints have suggested retail prices at $1,599 and $1,399, respectively.
Street prices should be a bit less. Like with firearms, optics generally retail for a few hundred less than their MSRPs in stores.
