The ups and downs of the pistol grip shotty for home defense (VIDEO)

Set off by the new 590 Shockwave abbreviated shotty from Mossberg, Ian and Karl with In-Range TV take on claims behind the home defense ability of a pistol-grip-only shotgun.

While they didn’t shell out the dough for the Shockwave, with a 14-inch barrel and shaped bird’s head style pistol grip that doesn’t require a tax stamp, they do have a Persuader model, which is Mossberg’s 500 set up much the same (both have a  26-inch overall length).

With a good bit of gentle ribbing for Mossberg’s pleasure, I&K run their Persuader through a number of drills, then compared their findings with more traditional shotguns.
