The murders in Orlando were a huge failure. There is more than enough blame to go around. Based on their actions, our government is neither interested in our safety nor is it able to protect us. The Pulse Nightclub was filled with over 300 patrons when an islamic murderer started shooting at 2 am. We are all we have. You are all you have to keep yourself safe. Please make sure that is enough. You can protect yourself and those you love, but this stands in your way. I’ll start at the top.
Obama excused islam.. again. Orlando Imams said is was a duty, and even a mercy, to kill gays. Imagine the outrage if a christian pastor had said that. The media and our government would fall on them relentlessly. That didn’t happen to these muslim Imams. Our president has a soft spot for islam.. so we treat Islam differently. I guess hate speech laws only apply to christians. President Obama didn’t let these murders go to waste. Obama blamed honest gun owners and christians. The murderer killed for three hours, but President Obama said there would be more injuries if the victims in the club were armed for their own defense.
This government is not here to protect us, but we can vote it out of office.
The FBI investigated the Orlando murderer many times. The murderer was on a watch list, but then he was allowed to take a job as a TSA security contractor. The FBI looked at the muslim murderer again when his colleagues at work raised an alarm. The FBI authorized his purchase of firearms. A local gun shop reported the murderer to the FBI when the shop employees questioned the murderers strange behaviour. The shop refused to sell to the murderer. Both of these sources, the colleagues at work and the gun shop employees, saw something and said something. The FBI did nothing. Don’t tell me that government lists and background checks stop murderers. They didn’t, they don’t, and they won’t.. at least not when anti-rights politicians hold office.
Florida politicians disarmed the nightclub victims. Gay clubs are some of the few places where LGBT minorities feel accepted and safe. To complicate matters, most of these clubs serve alcoholic drinks. In Florida, that means people who are legally licensed to carry concealed weapons must leave their guns outside. Armed America solved this problem long ago. The designated driver is also the designated defender. Florida politicians outlawed that common sense solution. Instead, Florida politicians deliberately disarmed a minority that is often persecuted and attacked. We’d be outraged if a Klu Klux Klan Klexter disarmed vulnerable minorities while wearing a white sheet. Instead, we nodded approvingly while a Florida Politician in a blue suit proposed the same thing. Shame on them and shame on us for leaving these anti-rights bigots in office. Elections are in November.
The police gave a mixed response. An unarmed off-duty police officer was working security at the club. It was an armed off-duty officer who heard the gunfire nearby and moved towards the murderer. That armed officer limited the ability of the murderer to move around the club at will. The club was built around three large rooms. Police arrived quickly and kept the murderer confined to one of the rooms and the bathroom. The Orlando police failed to learn the lesson of recent mass murderers. The police did not immediately move to stop the killer. Though confined, the murderer continued to kill for three long hours. The murderer shot hundreds of people, so don’t tell me that the police will be there when we need them to keep us safe. The chief of police was appointed by a democrat mayor.
The nightclub didn’t have enough armed staff to ensure their patron’s security. The club didn’t have emergency exits.. until SWAT blew new holes in the building. The club management knew gays were at risk of harassment or attack, but the club also knew that back exits can pose their own security risk as patrons open them for their friends. That is how the murderer at the Aurora, Colorado movie theater re-entered the theater with guns. Some states have imposed liability laws on businesses marked as gun free zones.
Gay political groups have traditionally supported Socialist candidates. Now the Socialist candidates are calling for more civilian disarmament across the country.. the same disarmament that left gays defenseless in Orlando. Disarming honest people always makes it easier for the terrorists and murderers. With its strict gun control, the Paris nightclub attacks are the latest example. The gay gun group, the Pink Pistols received a flood of interest.. and an outpouring of support from armed America.
The LGBT community can and should speak up for its own defense.
The LGBT community at the Pulse nightclub faced the same problems that armed America faced for a long time. We know that plastic “gun-free zone” signs don’t stop criminals or terrorists. Armed Americans have long struggled to go out, party responsibly, and secure their safety at the same time. That doesn’t minimize the horror of the Orlando murders. On the contrary. We have a common need to ensure our own safety even though few of us are rich enough to hire armed and licensed bodyguards. Armed America has adopted the designated carrier.. who is usually the designated driver. We avoid business that exclude armed civilians.
You should avoid them too. Fortunately, your safety is under your control. That is why I’m begging you, please get trained.
Your safety is too important to leave in the hands of a government official.
