The Lost Art of Steam Bending Wood – Creating Tomorrow’s Heirlooms Today

Chuck’s Woodbarn
Chuck’s Woodbarn Steamer Trunk

USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Wood chests and trunks, from the simplest wooden box to an extravagant limited-edition trunk, are perhaps the most universal and enduring form of furniture; they have been with us throughout recorded history, not only holding history, but valued possessions as well. Once this piece of furniture is in your family, it will always be a valued heirloom.

Chuck’s Woodbarn is owned and operated by Chuck and Sherry Zeller who specialize in the lost art of steam bending wood to create beautiful hand-crafted trunks and chests. Sometimes also called camel back trunks or steamer trunks, they are a true family heirloom, a unique work of art, and no two are alike. Emphasis is put on fine craftsmanship and quality construction. They personally design and construct everything from the beginning jigs to finalizing with finishing the interiors.

Chuck’s Woodbarn will exhibit in Booth #889 at the 2019 SCI Hunters’ Convention to be held Jan. 9-12, 2019 in Reno, Nevada.

Chuck’s Woodbarn LLC has donated a beautiful ‘true’ Camel Back Trunk with a lid that curves in both directions. Made with hand-crafted excellence, premium pieces of quarter-sawn white oak are hand selected for this beautiful trunk. It is stained a rich walnut, then hand waxed to a beautiful sheen. Elegant quality authentic reproduction hardware complements the exterior. Complete with a custom made ‘Zeller Lock,’ genuine leather handles, slat covers, and bottom guards, the trunk is lined with a beautiful tapestry. It has a slatted wood bottom and two hump trays. A special added feature is six hidden compartments. Dimensions: height 28-in., 20-in. width, 36-in. length. A Zeller Trunk will be a family heirloom you will be proud to hand down. Valued at $6,800.
