Houston, Tx –-(Ammoland.com)- This morning in Austin, Carlos Cascos, the Texas Secretary of State, held a drawing to determine the ballot position for constitutional amendments passed by the Texas Legislature.

SJR22 by Sen. Brandon Creighton and Rep. Trent Ashby will be listed as proposition 6 on the November 3rd ballot. Mark your calendars, Members. This is a must-pass issue!

Proposition 6 proposes an amendment to the Texas Constitution which establishes an individual right to hunt, fish, and harvest wildlife in Texas. It ensures that wildlife conservation and management decisions continue to be based on sound science in order to preserve our hunting heritage for generations to come and to protect this heritage from future attacks by well-funded, anti-hunting organizations. Not only are hunting and fishing deep-rooted in the Texas culture, they have a major economic impact on the state. According to the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, Texas hunters and anglers spend $4.1 billion annually and support 65,993 jobs.

Texas is growing and developing, that won’t stop. As our population expands our children and grandchildren need to know we worked to protect their heritage. Mark your calendar!
