A man is facing charges after he accidentally shot his cousin while rapping in the bedroom of his New Orleans home.
Authorities say on Wednesday, June 22, around 2:45 a.m., Tyronne Smith Jr., 20, and his 16-year-old cousin were both playing with a pistol while rapping when the gun accidentally discharged and struck the teen in the leg.
Smith told the police he did not intend to shoot his cousin, and both the teen and his mother did not want to press charges against Smith. Charges, however, came anyway.
Smith was arrested for illegal use of a weapon and negligent injuring. He was held on a $5,500 bond.
