Surveillance video released of gun shop robbery gone wrong (VIDEO)

WARNING: Some may find the content in the following video disturbing.

Surveillance video from Dixie Gun and Pawn in Mableton, Georgia, shows the brief moments in which two suspects attempted to rob the shop at gunpoint last month before the owner opened fire on them.

The entire encounter, which occurred on Dec. 26, 2016, just before 11 a.m., lasted less than a minute but left one of the suspects dead and the other running away from the scene.

The 64-year-old business owner, Jimmy Groover, was in the store with an employee when the two suspects stormed in, their faces covered and armed with guns. The suspects ordered the men to get down on the floor while threatening to kill them if they did not comply.

Groover, however, without missing a beat, grabbed his own gun and opened fire within seconds. One of the suspects immediately fell to the floor, while the other took off.

Neither Groover or his employee were injured.

Groover, who authorities said is not likely to face charges, said he hates that the suspect was killed, but felt he had no choice when he shot him.

“I’ve been doing this 30 years. Nothing like this has ever happened,” Groover said. “I never wanted this to happen but I want to go home at night, too.”
