Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- During a March 5th appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) continued to push his failed Senate gun control bill and said his “NRA friends understand.”
Host Joe Scarborough said, “My NRA friends understand it,” and Manchin said the same, pointing out that he is a “lifetime member” of the NRA.
During the interview, Manchin admitted that law-abiding gun owners are not going to sell guns to “a convicted felon or someone who is not mentally stable or give it to a family member who is not worthy of it.” But he continued to push for expanded background checks to keep law-abiding gun owners from doing the things he admitted they don’t do to begin with.
Manchin said he was “pretty straight” with his friends in West Virginia. He added, “They know who I am.”
On June 21, Breitbart News reported that the NRA was running an ad against Manchin in West Virginia. In the ad, they said Manchin posed as pro-gun to get elected, only to then begin working with President Obama and Michael Bloomberg on gun control.
