USA-(Ammoland.com)- The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation(SSSF) formally welcomes Carlton Nether to the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) team as director of development for the Western U.S.

“We are very happy to have Carlton part of the SCTP team!” Tom Wondrash, SCTP national director, said. “In dealing with Carlton when he was with Beretta, he was very helpful and always in support of youth shooting. I see this carrying on in his new role with SCTP!”

Nether said, “The future of the shooting sports lies within our youth, and it is critical that programs such as SCTP and SASP continue to thrive.”

In his new role, Nether will be responsible for growing grassroots membership in the SCTP by working to develop and support program regional staff and state advisors. He will also provide support to SCTP volunteers for state and local events as well as assisting in SCTP National fundraising efforts.

Nether is a championship Sporting Clays and FITASC shooter and served on several industry boards such as NSCA and the SSSF.

About Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation:

The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is responsible for all aspects of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) across the United States. SCTP and SASP are youth development programs in which adult coaches and other volunteers use shooting sports to teach and to demonstrate sportsmanship, responsibility, honesty, ethics, integrity, teamwork, and other positive life skills. SCTP was developed as a program of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) until the SSSF was created in 2007 to operate the SCTP. In 2012, SSSF created the SASP and became the managing foundation of both programs.
