Scot Peterson Acquitted and David Hogg Owns Guns but Wants to Take Yours

U.S.A. — On November 1, 2022, Nicholas Cruz was sentenced to Life in prison, without the possibility of parole, for killing 17 people at the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in South Florida. After Cruz’s heinous act of violence, the media and anti-gun activists came out swinging. They didn’t condemn the dangerous gun laws that were in place or the armed school Resource Officer for his inaction during a time of need. People like David Hogg, Moms Demand, Action, and anti-gun Democrats focused on blaming guns in the pursuit of more unconstitutional gun legislation. They used the death of children as an opportunity to push for more gun restrictions.

Ever since Joe Biden introduced the Crime Control Act, which included the Gun-Free School Zones Act in 1990, school killings have increased, and continue at twice the rate of increase every 10 years. The Parkland killing was yet another result of Joe Biden’s dangerous policy.

There was only one Resource Officer capable of stopping the violence that day, and he did nothing. There were no armed school staff or teachers on campus able to prevent the killing from occurring. This is likely due to the Gun-Free School Zones Act. Studies have shown that where there are more concealed, carry defense weapons in the hands of potential victims, there are fewer violent acts, yet these policies remain in place for political purposes.

In what appeared to be a shameless attempt at capitalizing on the murders, according to factcheck.org, referring to a CBS News documentary, 17-year-old David Hogg said:

“On the day of the shooting, I got my camera and got on my bike and rode as fast as I could three miles from my house to the school to get as much video and to get as many interviews as I could because I knew that this could not be another mass shooting.”

Hogg also told MSNBC and Time magazine that he was in an AP environmental science class when the attack occurred. David Hogg’s actual location at the time of the killings is still questionable, but Hogg went on to capitalize on the murders and became famous as a result. Embraced by left-wing news outlets, Hogg became the face of the anti-gun crowd, and the March For Our Lives anti-gun protests and propaganda events. Recently, Hogg has been promoting his activity at the gun range in what appears to be an attempt at building credibility as a “gun owner.”

This is a typical tactic among anti-gunners to shield themselves from criticism and give themselves the authority to speak “on-behalf” of gun owners.

Along with David Hogg and Nikolas Cruz, there was another player in this horrible event. His name was Scot Peterson. Peterson was the only person capable at the time of stopping the violence, but Peterson did nothing while gunshots were heard in the school. For about 48 minutes, Cruz carried out one of the deadliest school killings in U.S. history. Peterson stayed outside.

Throughout a three-week trial, prosecutors alleged that Peterson failed to follow his active shooting training when he remained outside the school building. Peterson was recently acquitted of all charges, including child neglect and perjury.

“I got my life back,” Peterson told reporters outside the courtroom.

“Peterson was the only hope for those victims,” Broward Assistant State Attorney Kristen Gomes said during closing arguments on Monday.

Tony Montalto, whose daughter Gina was one of the students murdered, blames Peterson for not trying to stop the shooting. Mr Montalto told reporters, “His inaction contributed to the shock, the devastation of students and teachers at that school,” “We don’t understand how this jury looked at the evidence that was presented and found him not guilty. All I can say to the members of the jury is: ‘I think your school should hire him to protect your children.’”

Joe Biden and the anti-gun crowd, including David Hogg got what they wanted; A gun-free school zone where good people are disarmed, and bad guys have free rein to do what they wish. Peterson may have got his life back and Hogg may be famous but the parents of those killed will never see their children again.
