Accessories maker Samson Manufacturing expands it lineup of rifle goodies, announcing the newest model in their SX handguard series — the SXS Lightweight.

The lightweight rail system tips scales at just 6.8-ounces for the 13-inch model, but still delivers long term durability with its 6061-T6 aluminum construction.

Equipped with Samson’s patent pending Vertical Bias Mount, or VBM, technology, the SXS Lightweight’s mounting system is rigid, straight and easy to install. The VBM barrel nut doesn’t require  clocking or shims and the clamp is captured and comes pre-installed. Shooters only need to tighten the barrel nut to AR-15 specs, slide the handguard on and tighten the mount screws. The clam and alignment tabs work together to create a solid installation the first time.

The M1913 top tail is outfitted with a section of M-LOK attachment points for accessory mounting. Samson said its engineers were adamant about including some rail sections to bridge optics with the receiver and so shooters can install iron sights on the front.

The SXS comes in two lengths, a 13-inch for $249 and a 15-inch priced at $259.
