Aimed at competitive shooters who prefer .357 mag wheel guns, Ruger’s SP101 has gotten a makeover that includes a full-lug barrel.

Announced on Wednesday, the SP101 Match Champion revolver features a number of enhancements to the traditional line to include a chamfered cylinder, polished and optimized internals with centering shims on the trigger and hammer, and custom Ruger-branded Altamont hardwood grips– but what really sets it off is the 4.2-inch full-lug barrel with an 11-degree target crown.

Since it is meant to stack holes on paper at distance, the Match Champion has a fully adjustable rear and fiber optic front sight. The five-shooter tips the scales at 30-ounces.

For now, the offering is just available in .357/.38, while the legacy SP101 line includes .327 Fed Mag and .22LR.

MSRP is $859.00
