RGS – -(OutDoorWire.com)-It’s been said the early bird catches the worm, which is why the Allegheny and the Allegheny Northwoods Chapters of the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) have begun taking reservations for an upland bird hunt scheduled to be held in the Pennsylvania Wilds region of Pennsylvania on November 6-7, 2009.

Limited to the first 100 paid attendees, this upland bird hunting adventure (which would make a nice Christmas gift) includes a breakfast buffet both mornings, and dinner and fund raising events each evening.

According to RGS Regional Direct Lisa Rossi, reservations are $200 per hunter and $125 for a non-hunting guest. The base of operation will be the Red Fern Inn, Kersey, and PA, which is central to thousands of acres of public hunting land, including the Allegheny National Forest, several State Game Lands and State Forest lands.

Lodging accommodations will be available in the St. Mary’s area, and guests will be able to attend breakfast, dinner and fund raising events.

For additional information and/or reservations, contact Rossi at 724-693-9032, rgslmt@msn.com, or Ken Waite at 315-406-5016, rgsknw@twcny.rr.com .

Established in 1961, the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) is the one international wildlife conservation organization dedicated to promoting conditions suitable for ruffed grouse, American woodcock and related wildlife to sustain our sport hunting tradition and outdoor heritage.
