Coraopolis, PA –-(Ammoland.com)- The Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) is pleased to announce it received accreditation by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in February 2018, an honor that shows members and the public the organization meets the high BBB standards of integrity and performance, an organization they can trust in the marketplace of conservation.
This accreditation follows the RGS designation as a Charity Navigator Four-Star Charity earlier in 2017 for recognition as a financially healthy, accountable and transparent organization.

The integrity, transparency and accountability of our business practices at all levels of the organization are paramount to the Ruffed Grouse Society and our mission accomplishments,” said RGS President and CEO John Eichinger. “We strive each and every day to utilize each program dollar to fulfill our mission of preserving our sporting traditions by creating healthy forests for ruffed grouse, American woodcock and other forest wildlife.”
After rigorous review of business practices from the board level to that of chapters and volunteers, the RGS met all 20 BBB Standards for Charitable
Accountability, with levels grouped into four main focus areas: governance, measuring effectiveness, finances and fundraising/information. According to the BBB, how a charity is run affects its overall performance. Poor governance and oversight often points to problems in other areas. The effectiveness of a charity in achieving its mission is of utmost importance. It’s key that potential donors know that when they give to a charity, their money is going to have an impact. A charity’s finances can identify organizations that may be demonstrating poor financial management and/or questionable accounting practices. Through financial standards, the BBB seeks to ensure that the charity is financially transparent and spends its funds in accordance with its mission and donor expectations. The BBB also seeks to ensure that a charity’s representations to the public are accurate, complete and respectful.
RGS was approved on all standard levels including, but not limited to, Board Oversight, Budget Plan, Program Expenses, Annual Report, Truthful Materials and Donor Privacy.
