Rex Zero 1, by Solvenian company Arex, is going compact offering a slimmed down version on the full size standard model.

The Compact trims a little length off the barrel, bringing it down to 3.85-inches on an overall 7.1-inch length. The pistol’s height shrinks to 5.1-inches, but keeps the same width as the standard at just over 1-inch. The gun weighs 4 ounces less than the Standard model, tipping scales at just over 25 ounces.

The trade-off comes in the form of magazine capacity. The Standard boasts 17 rounds, while the Compact packs just 15. Both models are available in either black or flat dark earth with the same price set at $670.

Both Rex Zero 1 models feature an integrate Picatinny rail and one piece cold hammer forged barrel made from a solid bar stock. Parts are nitrocarbonized to resist corrosion and improve durability. Designed for hard use, the Rex is expected to provide 30,000 rounds of service life and has passed both NATO and Slovenian military tests.

In addition to adding the Compact to its lineup, the company has also expanded its magazine offerings to give shooters in restricted states more options. The Rex Zero 1 Standard now ships with either a 17 round or 10 round magazine.
