EDGEFIELD, S.C. -(Ammoland.com)- More than 100 shotgunners saddled up in golf carts and took to the south course of the Palmetto Shooting Complex at the National Wild Turkey Federation for an afternoon of sporting clays to benefit the work of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation.
In the CSF’s first fundraising event at the shooting complex, participants each shot a full round of sporting clays (100 targets) and also enjoyed an evening of food, fellowship and fundraising at the facility’s beautiful open-air pavilion.
“We are really proud to have the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation here at the Palmetto Shooting Complex,” said Becky Humphries, NWTF CEO. “They are working to protect our hunting, fishing and shooting rights across the country through their efforts in D.C. and also by heading up the sportsmen’s caucuses at the national and state levels. Their work is absolutely crucial for the lifestyle we believe in.”
In showing their support for the CSF, more than a dozen legislators from South Carolina, as well as two from Georgia, made appearances during the festivities.
“The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation stands between our privileges as hunters, anglers and trappers and the loss of those privileges. Without the support of NGOs, like the NWTF, and other organizations that support us, we would not be able to carry out our work,” said Mike Pitts, South Carolina state representative and National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses executive council past president. “The Palmetto Shooting Complex is an incredible facility that has few rivals, if any at all, and was the perfect place for our event. We surpassed goals for fundraising, sponsorship and participation.”
In addition to hosting the event at its Palmetto Shooting Complex, the National Wild Turkey Federation joined more than 50 businesses and organizations to sponsor the fundraiser.
