Owner of rifle used in Oregon school shooting wants his gun back (VIDEO)

The owner of the rifle used in the deadly shooting at Reynolds High School last year wants his weapon back, and he’s asking a judge to make that happen.

Lucas Padgett’s attorney, Shawn Kollie, filed a motion in Multnomah County Circuit Court on Aug. 13, asking a judge to force the city of Troutdale and the state of Oregon to return Padgett’s property that’s still being held by the state.

Padgett’s younger brother is Jared Padgett, the 14-year-old boy police say shot and killed his classmate Emilio Hoffman on June 10, 2014. Then Jared Padgett killed himself.

In a supporting motion, Padgett, a U.S. Army Reservist, writes he’s “entitled to possession of the below listed property”: One Daniel Defense Armament DDM4 Carbine Rifle; Eight 30-round Magpul Magazines; One plate carrier vest; and one U.S. Army issued ‘laundry bag’.
