Temecula, Calif. –-(Ammoland.com)- Craig DeMartino, accomplished climber, author, survivor and host of “FIGHT TO SURVIVE,” a new action-packed adventure series on Outdoor Channel, America’s Leader In Outdoor TV.
“FIGHT TO SURVIVE” re-creates the true inspirational stories of men and women who have faced almost certain death and fought to stay alive. Each episode takes a survivor back to the flashpoint of their ordeal right into to some of the most majestic and dangerous places in North America – and shows how they persevered to share their story with audiences.
Craig DeMartino kicks off the TV series with his own harrowing and inspiring tale. An otherwise routine climb for DeMartino turned into a 100-foot free fall off onto unforgiving granite in the Rocky Mountains. The devastating accident cost the Loveland, Colorado resident his leg and nearly his life. His survival was nothing short of miraculous, but it comes at the price of chronic pain. Regardless, DeMartino was determined to resume climbing and his passion for the great outdoors. In 2006, he became the first amputee to free climb the nearly 3,200 ft. face of Yosemite’s El Capitan in a single day. He has since become a motivational speaker and celebrated paraclimber, representing the United States at the 2012 International Federation of Sport Climbing world championships in Paris where he placed third. He is the current 2014/15 Paraclimbing National Champion and is looking forward to the 2014 World Cup in Gijon, Spain.
Tune in on October 4th to learn how a split second mishap turned into a “FIGHT TO SURVIVE” for DeMartino.
Through perseverance, resourcefulness and sheer force of will, “FIGHT TO SURVIVE” chronicles the tales of the struggle to overcome almost insurmountable odds.
