Olympian rallies against California’s anti-gun ballot measure (VIDEO)

As someone that goes through 800 rounds daily to keep on top of her game, pro shooter and six-time Olympic champ Kim Rhode says that California’s Prop. 63 is wrong for gun owners.

In a spot released Wednesday by the Coalition for Civil Liberties, a group of Second Amendment advocates and police lobby organizations against the measure, Rhode slams Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom’s “Safety for All” ballot initiative that will, among other things, establish a system of background checks for ammunition sales.

“If Gavin Newsom has his way, it will make it incredibly hard to keep up my skill,” she said. “Its a fact, harsh gun laws like Prop. 63 are not the answer. They only hurt law-abiding people and do nothing to stop terrorists. Prop. 63 takes away the rights of tens of thousands of gun owners across California.”

In August, Rhode took home a bronze medal in women’s skeet at the Rio games, becoming the first woman to medal in six straight Olympics.
