NYC nightclub shooting leaves 2 dead, 4 wounded (VIDEO)

A man who was thrown out of a New York City nightclub over the weekend returned to the Mount Vernon area establishment several hours later and opened fire, killing two and wounding four more.

Authorities say 36-year-old Errol Hillary, who is the suspect in another, unrelated pending murder case open, fired “indiscriminately” when he re-entered The Mansion just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday. The club’s owner, 40-year-old O’Neal Bandoo, was fatally shot, but witnesses say he ran toward the commotion, instead of away from it.

Immediately after the shooting started, several security guards tackled Hillary to the ground. However, Hillary freed himself briefly before responding officers arrived and apprehended him.

A second person was also killed but a name has not yet been released, pending notification of the family. At least four others suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas called it a “dark day” and said the city was grieving.

“No one should ever have to endure this pain,” Thomas said. “Mr. Bandoo was a good man who was dedicated to uplifting and serving the people of Mount Vernon.”
