NH car salesman runs ‘buy a car, get an AR’ special (VIDEO)

A car salesman out of Rochester, New Hampshire, is offering a special bonus some just can’t turn down.

“Buy a car, get an AR,” is the sales pitch and, so far, Mike Hagan said he’s been taken up on the offer a handful of times. Hagan, however, assured scoffers the transactions were legit.

“They go to the dealer and pass their background check. If they don’t pass, they don’t get the weapon. It’s that’s simple,” explained Hagan, a combat veteran who served in Afghanistan.

For those uninterested in scoring a free AR-15, Hagan is offering a 9mm handgun has an alternative, but all the same rules – including a background – still apply.

While the special, which Hagan said he will run for as long as it remains popular, has no doubt drawn criticism from some, when reporters asked Hagan about the possibility of the guns coming out of his promotion being used to kill people, he responded with a simple comparison.

“I could worry about the same thing with a car being used to hurt other people,” he said, noting, “In the end that kind of heinous of crime is in the heart.”
