The Gun-of-the-Month for Christmas:
Michael Stewart of Mt. Carmel, Illinois wins the November gun, the S&W Model 686 SSR, ready for IDPA, revolver. By the way, Michael lives in the smaller Mt. Carmel in Southern Illinois, not the anti-gun suburb of Chicago, Mt. Carmel. He’s clearing his paperwork with us and shortly will be transferring his early Christmas present at Bailey’s Guns in Mt. Carmel. Mike was preparing for his finals this week when I called. He’s taking a degree in Gunsmithing at the local college, so his classmates will likely be examining the new pro series Smith & Wesson, to see how the gunsmiths at the factory slick the action.

Don’t Ask Me, Ask the ARMY:
There’s a new click banner right in the middle of the www.ShootingUSA.com home page that will take you to the pros with the Army Marksmanship Unit. The competition teams and even the Army gunsmiths stand ready to answer your questions and provide advice on any shooting sport they are involved in, from Action Pistol, to Three Gun, Shotgun, or Olympic Style International Competition. Click the team that matches your question and you’ll get a pop-up e-mail form to ask the pros. You’ll get a personal reply from America’s Champions.

New USAMU Pro Tips Series:
We’re debuting a new series of Pro Tips this week. This time the Army Service Rifle Team is teaching rifle competition for those of you who want to improve your scores at Camp Perry. This week they’ll show you the strategy that has the team winning the Infantry Trophy Team Match. You and your team members may not beat the Army, but you’ll place better if you understand their technique for the “rattle battle”.

Here’s hoping your Christmas shopping is going well,
