Sights and optics maker Meprolight unveiled the latest in its lineup of pistol sights with a single optic option.

The FT Bullseye is a micro red dot style optic compatible with most popular handguns, but its wow factor comes from its single sight design. Ditching the front sight entirely, the optic relies solely on a center dot on the rear sight to guide shooters on target.

“You line up the dot in the circle (bullseye effect) and you are on target. No front sight needed,” said Mark Schindel, representative for Meprolight distributor The Mako Group.

Front sight snags on a draw from concealment are a common adversary to concealed carry enthusiasts. Ditching the front sight entirely matched with the slimmer build on the FT Bullseye could equate to quicker draws and shots on target for some shooters.

Combining fiber optics and tritium, the Bullseye works well in a multitude of lighting situations without the need for a spare set of batteries. Meprolight also guarantees its tritium for 12 years.

Meprolight sweetens the package further by giving consumers the choice of two colors– red or green.

Available online through The Mako Group, the FT Bullseye seems to be quite the bargain starting at $199.
