New Anti-Gun Strategy is Hogg-Wash

U.S.A. — Have you ever heard someone say the following, “Well, I have a Ph.D., so….” The implication is that they know better than you. This is a strategy called “arguing from a place of authority.” It’s a strategy typically used to shut down opposition when debating. You’ll hear the political left often use this tactic when they are losing an argument while trying to defend their political and social ideas. It would seem our anti-gun friend David Hogg is doing exactly that.

If you remember this little character, you’ll remember that he became famous from the Parkland tragedy. After the Parkland killings, David went on every media outlet he could and got recognition from the anti-gun left. In their world, he was a star. Things have changed for David, as his recognition has been waning, so recently, he has been portraying himself on social media as a gun owner. He is posting about his experience at the gun range, his ability to make new friends in the community, sharing photos of his used targets, and positioning himself as an experienced, credible gun owner. Occasionally, this strategy is used by anti-gunners to help build faux credibility.

Since David has recently lost popularity and media face time, this may be a strategy to keep himself relevant. Or is there more to it?

David is also posting about the dangers of lead ammunition, expressing that the exposure is unhealthy and that we need a “greener” type of ammunition. This is particularly interesting because since last year, legislation to ban lead ammunition has been pushed with no luck. He continues to advocate for more gun restrictions as he posts about his experiences at the range. Is David really concerned about the effects of lead ammunition or is he positioning himself to be an activist with “credibility” for banning ammunition and other gun restrictions in general? It won’t be long before the media says, “firearms expert David Hogg says…”

The backlash from real gun owners against Hogg has been quite intense. Gun owners are not buying his sham for a minute.

It would appear the anti-gun crowd is getting a bit desperate with all the losses they are experiencing in court, and re-creating David Hogg may be their last hope. It seems they want desperately to turn David Hogg into a firearms expert, so they can have a credible advocate who is also a “gun owner” and who is willing to speak out against the 2nd Amendment.

Whether or not Hogg believes his strategy will work, he is rushing the plan. As usual, leftists don’t have much time when they are on a mission to violate their fellow citizens, so Hogg is pushing for gun restrictions almost as soon as he has declared himself a gun owner.

If we’ve learned anything from the anti-gun crowd and the far-left communist-minded, it is the fact that they are willing to go to great lengths to violate the rights of their fellow citizens. David Hogg is just another tool in their collection. When the gun grabbers are done with him, they will throw him to the curb. Until then, we can enjoy his foolish antics and watch as real Americans remind him that he is nothing but a fraud.
