A man was shot Monday night outside of a Las Vegas home, but the man who pulled the trigger isn’t likely to face charges because he acted in defense of another person, police said.
The incident unfolded around 11 p.m. when the armed neighbor heard a man arguing with a woman outside. The neighbor walked outside to find the couple fighting on the sidewalk and witnessed the man, who is in his 20s, hit the 18-year-old woman.
However, when the man picked up a brick and made a motion as if he was going to hit the woman with it, the neighbor drew his gun and shot the man, striking him in the lower back.
The wounded man was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
None of the parties involved were named. The armed neighbor had no prior relationship or contact with the couple and is not expected to face any charges.
