NASHVILLE, Tenn. -(AmmoLand.com)- Wildlife photography has long been accepted as one of the true outdoor arts. Photographers spend hundreds of hours outdoors with game, studying their subjects and waiting for the chance to capture the perfect image.

Often, due to its wary and suspicious nature, the wild turkey is among the most difficult species to photograph. The NWTF recognized this challenge and created the NWTF/Turkey Call Magazine Photography Contest specifically for professional and amateur wild turkey photographers who spend time afield pursuing images of the world’s grandest gamebird.

Wildlife photographers are invited to submit images of live, wild turkeys in their natural habitat in hopes of earning top honors, their share of more than $3,000 and the chance to be published in North America’s best turkey hunting magazine. The top three photographs will be displayed in the exhibit hall for the duration of the convention.

Entries for the 10th annual NWTF/Turkey Call Magazine Photography Contest must be received by December 15, 2008.

The NWTF/Turkey Call Magazine Photography Contest is sponsored by Turkey Call magazine.

About:
The NWTF is a national nonprofit conservation organization that was founded in 1973 and has worked with wildlife agencies to restore wild turkey populations from 1.3 million wild turkeys to nearly 7 million today. Now, NWTF’s volunteers raise funds and work daily to improve critical wildlife habitat, increase access to public hunting land and introduce new people to the outdoors and hunting.
