National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Conversation with VA. Senator Mark Warner

Virginia Senator Mark Warner
There really would be no LOGICAL argument for a Congressional legislator representing Virginia, like Senator Mark Warner, to NOT support National Reciprocity.

Virginia – -(Ammoland.com)- I called Senator Mark Warner’s DC office last week and asked to speak to the aide who handles firearms policies. I ended up talking to Ross.

I told Ross:

  • Since Senator Warner is supposed to be representing Virginia and not New York, he needs to support National Concealed Carry Reciprocity
  • Virginia ALREADY recognizes concealed carry permits from all states. The General Assembly has spoken on this matter so that National Reciprocity would change nothing for Virginia
  • But the 450,000 Virginia CHP holders would benefit from being able to carry in the rest of the 49 states.

During the conversation, it was clear that he didn’t know that Virginia now honors the CHPs from all states, as Ross only mentioned that Virginia had dropped reciprocity with 25 states! I made sure he was clear on the actual situation.

Ross also said that they had heard from people opposing National Reciprocity.

I said, “What can they possibly be against? National Reciprocity would change NOTHING in Virginia. If the people calling were from another state, Senator Warner does not represent them.”
