Mortuary worker accused of stealing dead man’s car, gun (VIDEO)

A man was arrested last week at his North Hollywood home, accused of stealing a car and a gun from a dead man earlier this month.

Fernando Moguel, 43, who worked for the county, was supposed to pick up the body of a man who died in his Lancaster home on March 5, but according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Moguel took more than just the man’s body. Apparently Moguel made off with the pink slip to the deceased man’s car and had the vehicle transferred into his own name. Moguel is also accused of stealing a firearm and several other items, all of which were recovered by authorities in his home.

Moguel was arrested last Tuesday, March 22, and now faces charges for grand theft vehicle and possession of a stolen firearm.
