Miami-Dade PD searching for police-impersonating robbers (VIDEO)

Authorities in Florida are searching for the individuals responsible for a home invasion robbery Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Miami-Dade Police Department, two white males wearing body armor and carrying guns entered the front door of a home around 3:30 p.m. As they entered the residence, they identified themselves as police officers, but once inside, they tied up the victim’s hands, announced a robbery and ransacked the home.

The suspects made off with about $500 in cash and jewelry with an undetermined value. They left the scene in a black Jeep Cherokee.

There were two children, ages 3 and 12, in the home at the time of the robbery, but neither the children or the victim who was bound were injured during the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
