Meet Green Bay Police Officer Joel Zwicky, the first cop to officially patrol the streets on a longboard. Skate patrol, as opposed to foot patrol, is something Zwicky prefers to do.
He carves on his customized ride and whenever he gets a call, he rolls back to his unmarked patrol car and tosses the board in the passenger seat, Caters News reports.
“Initially I got smiles for years and some laughs, but this year it seemed like a good idea and the chief said just go out there and don’t get hurt and see what happens,” Zwicky explains. “Locally, it’s been fantastic. There’s been awesome support when I’m out skating and I’m meeting people on the trails, meeting people down the sidewalk – it’s been great.”
