McDonald’s employee jumps through drive-thru window to save officer in distress (VIDEO)

A quick-thinking employee at a McDonald’s in Doral, Florida, jumped out of the drive-thru window Wednesday morning to help an off-duty police officer who apparently passed out in her vehicle while at the window.

Pedro Viloria said he took her order, but when he returned to give the woman her food, he immediately knew something was wrong. Viloria said it appeared the woman, who had her two children in the back seat, was having trouble breathing before she passed out.

Completely unconscious, the woman’s foot slipped off of the brake, and her SUV began to roll forward as her children started to scream.

Without missing a beat, Viloria jumped through the drive-thru window and ran to stop the vehicle. He then ran back inside to summon help.

By that time, there was another customer at the drive-thru window, who happened to be a paramedic. Moments later, a Miami-Dade police officer stopped in to grab a bite for breakfast, as his partner waited outside in their patrol car.

The trio of first responders, along with Viloria and another employee who did not want to be named, quickly worked together to administer CPR to the unconscious woman. Eventually, with the use of a defibrillator, they were able to restart her heart.

The woman was rushed to the hospital, where her current condition is unknown.

Viloria has since been called a hero for his actions. His response? First responders are the real heroes.
