Marlin lever actions chambered in Hornady’s new 308 Marlin Express produce spectacular performance.
308 Marlin Express
This new cartridge was developed by Hornady and is chambered exclusively in two new Marlin lever actions. It has enabled us to create the first traditionally-styled lever action rifle chambered for a true “flat shooting” cartridge.
Ballistics for the 308 Marlin Express are virtually identical to the 308 Win., resulting in enough energy to be lethal on big game out to 400 yards.
This unheard-of performance is made possible by Hornady’s development of LEVEREVOLUTION® ammunition technology, using new powder formulations and their exclusive Flex-Tip® bullet design.
The two models chambered for this round are: the blued 308MX with a 22″ barrel and walnut stock, and the stainless steel 308MXLR with a 24″ barrel and laminated stock.
Both rifles will be available during the second quarter of 2007.
Model 336XLR-35
A new lever action in the same configuration as current XLR models, but chambered in 35 Rem. It’s designed to take optimum advantage of Hornady LEVEREVOLUTION® ammunition, which improves performance of this caliber dramatically.
Model 917S
A new stainless steel version of this popular 17 HMR bolt action rifle with a sporter barrel and open sights. It also features a rugged black synthetic stock.
Model 60SN
Our classic blued Model 60 semi-auto 22 with a black synthetic stock, swivel studs, and a very competitive price.
Small gauge L.C. Smiths
The interest in 28 gauge and 410 side-by-side models has been intense. For 2007, we’re offering both, with the smooth, elegant “Elsie” lines and lots of features. Both guns have gold game bird images on the sides and the bottom of the receiver. They also feature single selective triggers and checkered walnut pistol grip stocks. And both models come with three choke tubes (yes, even the 410!).
Carbon fiber-dipped stocks
This exciting new pattern has a high-tech look and is extremely tough. We’re using it on four rimfire models in 2007: the 60SSK stainless steel 22 autoloader, 980VS stainless 22 LR bolt action, 917VS stainless 17HMR bolt action, and the 982VS, a stainless 22 Magnum bolt action.
Bolt action rimfire synthetic stock upgrade
All bolt action rimfire models with synthetic stocks feature a new, classic stock design, with a fluted comb, deep molded checkering and swivel studs.
Magnum rimfires now supplied with two clips
All Marlin clip-loading 22WMR and 17HMR bolt action rifles now come with both a 4-shot and a 7-shot clip magazine. The new 4-shot clip mounts nearly flush with the stock, making the rifle more comfortable to carry, both in the hand and with a sling. It also gives the rifle a sleeker profile.
Factory-mounted scopes
Five models are being offered with mounted scopes that are bore-sighted at the factory. They include 30/30 Models 336A and 336W, and rimfire Models 917V (17HMR), 925R (22LR), all of which include a 3-9×32 variable scope, and the 60SN with a 4×20.
