Man slapped with extra prison time after calling judge ‘cowardly b*tch’ (VIDEO)

A 25-year-old man sentenced to 70 years in prison in a Tippecanoe County courtroom Tuesday was slapped with an extra 180 days after he called the judge a “cowardly bitch.”

Steven Burns was convicted of charges stemming from an August home invasion in Lafayette, Indiana, in which he and two accomplices broke into an elderly couple’s home, beat them with a pistol and stole cash, credit cards and other valuables.

The stolen items were later recovered and Burns, along with his brother, 23-year-old Joseph Burns, and 27-year-old Adam Smith were arrested after a brief standoff with the police.

Earlier this month, a jury of his peers found Steven Burns guilty on all counts, while Jeremy Burns was due in court Wednesday and Smith has a jury trial scheduled for December.

Steven Burns, who was apparently unhappy about his sentencing when he cursed at the judge, also refused to sign a no-contact order for the victims of the home invasion.
