Wyoming-based Magpul just dropped their X-22 Backpacker stock as a functional upgrade that brings onboard ammo storage to anyone rocking a Ruger 10/22 Takedown.
The company introduced their Hunter X-22 line in 2015, which brought general Magpul swag to the standard 10/22. Now they are back with an ergonomic X-22 Backpacker designed to drop in all factory 10/22 Takedown models or those with a Tactical Solutions SBX barrel.
The aftermarket stock includes a MOE SL non-slip pad, a locking assembly to keep the barrel from falling away at awkward times, QD sling mount capability, interchangeable cheek risers and a storage space in the grip.
Speaking of storage:
Best of all, there is a fairly decent sized hinged storage compartment in the top of the stock capable of swallowing up a trio of spare 10-round magazines, or a similarly-sized box of ammo, or maybe a half a ham sandwich. We don’t judge.
Color choices include black, OD, FDE, and “Stealth Gray.”
MSRP is $109 with shipping expected to start in the Spring.
And yes, that is Mississippi crossroads delta blues legend Robert Johnson in the background playing “Stop breaking down’ blues” from back in 1937.
What else?
