Latest Gun Grab Teen Just another Pawn for Older Prohibitionists

U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “Meet the 19-year-old gun control lobbyist who has lawmakers’ ears,” Politico urges in a Sunday paean to citizen disarmament masquerading as straight news. The latest useful face slated for media exploitation is 19-year-old Charlie Mirsky, “political director of March for Our Lives” who “registered as a lobbyist last summer and arranged to finish his last year of high school online.”

There’s nothing like presenting a person of experience, mature judgment and knowledge if you wish to throw away the wisdom of the Founders and replace it with a monopoly of violence, no? Mirsky is there to appeal to emotion, as the adults behind the scenes are starting to realize that David Hogg and Emma González turn off too many middle-of-the-roaders. But like them, this latest “flavor of the month” doesn’t have an original idea in his head, and what is there has been planted by his influencers. After all, everything he proposes has been on the table for years.

As for the “lawmaker’s ears” that he supposedly has, most are Democrat gun-grabbers in a position to exploit that association, like Ted Deutch. That Mirsky “get[s] into rooms that … not many of us can get into” speaks more to the way the swamp operates to the benefit of the “Big Club” than anything, and there’s an anecdote presented in the Politico account that’s telling:

“Mirsky said he had a few early mishaps, such as when he casually put his feet up on a table in Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey’s office, only to be told it cost $5,000.”

That says much about upbringing and thoughtless entitlement. I don’t own any tables worth anywhere near that much, but try that at my house and you’ll hear about it. But my first thought is not so much that the oblivious kid has no appreciation for what others before him with real knowledge and skill have carefully built (although that’s a part of it), as it is this:

What the hell is a damn “social justice” Democrat doing with a $5,000 table in his office, how much did the other furnishings cost, and what else is this guy treating himself to on the taxpayers’ dime? Hey, the nomenklatura always did get top pickings.

March for Our Lives is every bit as fraudulently presented by Politico as it presents young Mirsky. We’re told it’s a “grassroots effort” and as such “doesn’t have the financial resources of” Bloomberg’s Everytown. We’re told “the group remains largely student-run.”

That must be why “adult” groups like Everytown, Giffords, MoveOn, Women’s March LA, the American Federation of Teachers and Planned Parenthood helped organize the Washington rally where, according to The Washington Post, “the average attendee looked much more like a 49-year-old college-educated woman.”

That must be why the real “leadership” is provided by a Hollywood producer, and various lawyers, administrators, and apparatchiks. And it must be why the “grassroots” funding was “organized” by the grown-ups and supplemented with massive contributions from the likes of “George and Amal Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg, and Kate Capshaw.”

Desperate to make real change at the national level, the established gun owner control lobby is relying on fresh new faces of youths raised in the public school indoctrination mills to be ignorant of their birthright and hostile to their heritage. As they’ve shown us time and again, buzz phrases like “commonsense gun safety laws” are just that, and the real goal is citizen disarmament, to be taken incrementally when they can get it, but ultimately to be taken in full.

The useful young idiot du jour is just a convenient and effective tool to manipulate the emotions of low-information voters, who then turn around and reward the swindlers with the power to have their edicts enforced – at gunpoint, of course.
