NEWTOWN, Conn –-(Ammoland.com)- In a huge victory for sportsmen in Virginia, House Bill 1237, which repeals the ban on Sunday hunting on private lands with written permission from the owner, was reported favorably by the House Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources Committee by a 12-10 vote, and will now go to the House floor.

The NSSF-led Sunday Hunting Coalition comprised of sportsmen’s groups, industry leaders and Virginia businesses is urging everyone to continue to keep the pressure on as the battle over HB 1237 is far from over.

With an expected floor vote possible as early as Monday, NSSF is working to ensure that the legislation is not amended from its current form. NSSF will continue to keep you updated as this legislation is moving fast and opponents, such as the Farm Bureau, are doing everything in their power to derail the progress of this important legislation.

Residents of Virginia should contact their state legislators to ensure that Sunday hunting becomes law. Take action.
