Dallas TX – -(Ammoland.com)-The Hunting Heritage Trust and GunBroker.com are teaming to promote the “Treasures & Traditions” online auction of consigned firearms at the high-energy Dallas Safari Club show.

The “Treasures & Traditions” program has auctioned more than 3,000 firearms and related sporting items on GunBroker.com, generating important funding for programs in support of America’s hunting and shooting sports heritage. A recent expansion of the program now allows individual hunters and shooters to participate in the program by consigning individual firearms or complete collections and to benefit from the excellent prices generated by the vast GunBroker.com buyer community.

“The auction of donated items is a proven fund-raising activity but it obviously has its limitations,” commented Bob Delfay, President of the Hunting Heritage Trust.

“Not all collectors want to fully donate their treasured firearms to a non-profit organization like the Hunting Heritage Trust and not everyone can afford to. As the “Treasures & Traditions” program has grown, we have had people ask if they could make one or more firearms available to the auction on a consignment basis, with the consignor receiving the majority of the proceeds from the auction and the Trust retaining a commission for its services. “The answer now is, yes,” Delfay said. “We welcome the opportunity to discuss consignment.”

“Commissions will range between 10% and 20% depending on the number and value of consigned items, the extent of the appraisal work involved, shipping costs and photography required,” Delfay explained.

The “Treasures & Traditions” consignment program offers several outstanding benefits to prospective consignors. The major benefit is the high retail prices typically generated by the GunBroker.com marketplace of nearly 4 million firearms enthusiasts. Another benefit is the knowledge that a portion of the sale of each gun will benefit the Hunting Heritage Trust and programs that support our nation’s hunting and shooting sports heritage.

Firearms and other items auctioned through the “Treasures & Traditions” program have ranged in value from more than $130,000 to just a few hundred dollars.

The consignment program will be administered for the Hunting Heritage Trust by Bucks Hill Management, the same company that has coordinated the “Treasures & Traditions” auction since it was launched in 2007. Bucks Hill Management will handle all aspects of the program including promotion, appraisals, shipping, photography, customer service, insurance and posting of items on GunBroker.com.

The “Treasures & Traditions” program will be featured in Booth 124 at the Dallas Safari Show. Additional information on the program is also available at www.huntingheritagetrust.org
