Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)-  Reacting to the news surrounding Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death, Huffington Post contributor Amy Siskind asked why “CEOs of gun manufacturing companies” aren’t held to the same standard as heroin and drug dealers.

On February 2nd, Breitbart News reported that Hoffman was found dead with a needle still in his arm from an apparent overdose.

On February 4th, Siskind hinted at the prosecution of the dealer who sold the heroin to Hoffman and used a Facebook post to ask why the legal system prosecutes drug dealers but not firearm manufacturers:

“If we’re considering charging the drug dealer who sold heroin to Philip Seymour with murder, why aren’t we holding the CEOs of gun manufacturing companies to a similar standard?”

The simple answer to Siskind’s question is that guns are legal and are protected by the Second Amendment. Moreover, guns are used over two thousand times a day to defend life and/or property.

On the other hand, heroin is illegal, has no constitutional protection, and destroys life.
