Annapolis, MD -(AmmoLand.com)- Two weeks ago, I put out a call to the firearms community requesting financial help so we can challenge in court the requirement of needing to obtain an HQL prior to purchasing a firearm.

The calling was to raise a minimum of $10,000 so we could retain counsel. I am thrilled to report that in the last week, you, the firearm community, stepped up to the plate and donated $19,836.68!

Today, Maryland Shall Issue has retained Cary Hansel of Hansel Law, PC as our attorney to represent us in challenging the State of Maryland for the requirement to obtain a Handgun Qualification License to purchase a firearm for self defense inside the home. While our attorney fees are now taken care of, we will incur additional expenses associated with this case for depositions, expert witnesses etc.

Over the next few months, we will be working with Mr. Hansel very closely, but please understand that there will be much information that will be held close to the vest for obvious reasons.

We thank you all for your generosity and ask that you continue to donate to this worthy cause.

If you haven’t donated yet and would like to contribute, please use this link:
